1. Who we are
MyTenancyCheck (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website mytenancycheck.co.uk. We are committed to protecting your personal data and complying with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For data protection enquiries, contact us at privacy@mytenancycheck.co.uk.
2. What data we collect
- Email address — collected at the point of upload, used solely to deliver your tenancy analysis report. It is not used for marketing.
- Tenancy agreement PDF — uploaded by you for analysis. This file is stored temporarily and deleted immediately after your report is generated.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
- Generated report — stored securely for up to 24 hours to allow you to access it via your results link, then permanently deleted.
3. Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data under Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR — processing necessary to perform the contract (delivering your report). We do not process your data for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
4. How we use your data
- To process your tenancy agreement PDF and generate your report.
- To email your report to the address you provided.
- To process your payment securely via Stripe.
5. Third-party services
- Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's own privacy policy at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — your PDF is sent to Anthropic's API to generate the plain English report. Anthropic's API data usage policy applies.
- Resend — email delivery of your report.
- Netlify — hosting and temporary file storage. Data is stored within Netlify's infrastructure.
6. Data retention
- PDF: Deleted immediately after your report is generated (within minutes of payment).
- Report: Deleted after 24 hours.
- Email address: Retained only for the duration of the transaction and report delivery.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification of inaccurate data.
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction of processing.
- Data portability.
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk).

8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for the site to function (e.g. session handling during the payment flow). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
